Alera Veterinary was built by Brent Rosen and Cory Friedman. Together, Brent and Cory provide a unique strategic perspective to employee benefits with a focus on the long-term sustainability of their clients’ plans. Their practice is built on a foundation of education, and their focus on educating employees and benefit administrators has been a key factor in their success. is a Vice President of Benefits Consulting at Alera Group. Brent has developed considerable expertise in working with multi-location companies, and those growing through acquisition, specifically in the Veterinary Industry. Brent co-manages Alera Veterinary, and has proudly served as the American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA) preferred-provider for employee benefits since 2009.
In addition to group medical and ancillary lines of insurance, Brent also works to provide expert and objective guidance with respect to 401(k) and other salary-deferral plans, pension and profit-sharing plans, deferred-compensation plans and executive benefits. Brent has also earned the Chartered Benefits Consultant (CBC) designation, provided by the National Association of Alternative Benefits Consultants, which demonstrates his expertise in Consumer-Driven Health Plans.
Brent is a graduate of Indiana University, where he studied Finance at the Kelley School of Business, while also spending a semester abroad in Florence, Italy. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Brent has lived in Chicago since 2002. He enjoys playing guitar, exercising, reading, cooking, and is an enthusiastic world traveler. Brent is also an active member of the GCG Hardly Riders Team, and participates annually in a nationwide chartable ride, "Cycle for Survival," that raises money for research for rare cancers.

is a Vice President of Benefits Consulting at Alera Group. Cory has developed considerable expertise in the Veterinary Industry, working with veterinary hospitals all over the country. Cory co-manages Alera Veterinary, and has proudly served as the American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA) preferred-provider for employee benefits since 2009. Cory works to provide guidance and objective analysis of group insurance benefits and is currently responsible for the health insurance and employee benefit programs of more than 150 veterinary practices.
Cory has earned the Chartered Benefits Consultant (CBC) designation, provided by the National Association of Alternative Benefits Consultants, which demonstrates his expertise in Consumer-Driven Health Plans. In 2016, he was selected as a Young Gun Award recipient by Insurance Business America, which recognizes young professionals making a significant impact in the insurance industry. Cory was also named a “Rising Star” in 2017 by Employee Benefit Adviser, earning recognition as one of only 20 brokers age 35 and younger nationwide who exhibit quick thinking, openness to change, and the ability to navigate the ever-changing employee benefit landscape. Cory was selected for the 2nd year in a row as a 2018 Employee Benefit Adviser Rising Star, recognized again as one of only 20 standout advisers ages 35 and younger who are taking charge of the employee benefit supply chain with a determination to reduce costs and improve client outcomes.
Cory is a graduate of Indiana University, where he studied Finance at the Kelley School of Business. Cory lives in Chicago, and enjoys spending time with his wife Genna, playing hockey, traveling, reading, and writing.
